ICRA 2023

METRICS HEART-MET Physically Assistive Robot Challenge

We are happy to invite you to participate in the ICRA 2023 METRICS HEART-MET Physically Assistive Robot Challenge, which will take place at ExCeL London from May 29th to June 1st, 2023.

In this challenge, an assistive robot is tasked with fetching an item for a person in a home. The person communicates to the robot the item they would like, and where it is located. The robot should navigate to the given location, find the item, grasp it, and bring it back to the person and safely hand it over to them. The assistive robot should have several capabilities, including socially acceptable interruption, speech and gesture recognition, navigation, object perception and manipulation, safe and socially acceptable physical human-robot interaction and collaboration for object handovers.

The challenge is based on several functional and task benchmarks from the HEART-MET competition developed in the context of the METRICS project, building on previous competitions such as RoCKIn and RockEU2.

How to Participate

Interested teams should submit qualification material using this form by April 6th, 2023.

Qualified teams will be notified by April 14th, and all team members will receive a pass for the competition hall. If you also want to attend the ICRA conference, registration for the conference needs to be done on the ICRA website.

A Toyota HSR robot may be available for your team, in case you are not able to transport your own robot. Indicate whether you would be interested in using the robot in the registration form.
